Locate the load
Define the component, joint, coordinate system, and sign convention before interpreting a trace. A force value without that context can be misleading.
Keep the operating context
Preserve the event, duty cycle, sampling approach, and units alongside each load history. Peaks are useful, but they do not describe the complete loading process.
Connect to the next assessment
Load histories are an input to durability work. Estimating fatigue life also requires a suitable stress response, material information, and damage method.
